·
This is a joint initiative of the U.S.
Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education as part of the global
efforts to promote international programs.
·
Prepare Americans for an international
environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and
exchange experiences in the United States.
·
Northeastern University is a big participant in this event.
Thinking & Working Globally Session
·
The set up was informal and we enjoyed a casual
dinner and conversation celebrating the globally diverse experiences of our
students.
·
Opportunity to meet with students who have
participated in International Co-op and hear their stories while learning about
the cross-cultural aspects of working and living in another country.
·
One of the most memorable students I spoke to at
this session was a freshman who had already set up a non-profit organization in
India that offered a computer network without internet access – bright chap
with HUGE future job prospects. He is even considering employing other Northeastern students to work for him while on International Co-op.
