One of the most adapted classical novels
is this Russian masterpiece by Leo Tolstoy that William Faulkner once called
the best novel ever written. The story tells a tale of love, passion, betrayal
and numerous other themes through a blinding theater staged format brought to
cinemas all across the globe.
Many critics have dismissed this movie as
style over substance. Personally, it did take me a little while to adjust to
the showy film making scenes but it was an incredible work of art and the
costumes were unbelievable.
The movie is a tragedy like many classics
as Anna Karenina has no choice but to throw herself into despair until
everything in her life dies.
Definitely worth a watch!
