The Business Society GCU Launch Night
The founding committee of The Business Society GCU - Kris, Nicole, Molly, Yan, Melissa and Myself with Dean John Wilson.
After plenty of planning The Business Society GCU hosted it's launch night at the Grosvenor Hilton Hotel, Glasgow. There was an applause worthy turn out of 125 students and over 60 staff members and employers. All students presented themselves very professionally among the distinguished guests and it was encouraging to see people jumping at the chance to network with individuals from a vast array of different disciplines.
Petra Wetzel presented as guest speaker for the night, founder and Managing Director of WEST bar and brewery, delivered a presentation entitled My Work – My Life during which she spoke about the development of a £9million brewery in Glasgow and her experiences as a female entrepreneur.
As part of the launch of the GSBS International Business and Society Network, students attended a guest lecture entitled Segmentation, Positioning and International Marketing Strategy earlier in the day. It was delivered by Professor Colin Gilligan, Emeritus Professor of Marketing at Sheffield Hallam University. Professor Gilligan is a specialist in Strategic Marketing and consults for FTSE 100 organisations and global corporations.
As a committee we received overwhelming feedback on the success of the night #workstudyplay:
